The conference will be focusing on deepwater exploration, deepwater depositional systems and frontier explorations in the region. Yet to be confirmed keynote speakers will touch on topics grouped together either on technical matters or regional issues and there are 30 oral presentations and 30-40 poster presentations on the roster.
A field trip, a week before the start of the symposium, is being planned to visit the coastal outcrops of the Miocene Mt Messenger deepwater depositional system in New Zealand. Also on the agenda are short courses on Deepwater Pore Pressures and Fracture Gradients and Deepwater Depositional Systems, which will be held on 6 December.
