In a statement by CNPPS, and published by the Xinhua news service, the watchdog said, “The State Electricity Regulatory Commission (SERC), two major power grid corporations and some power companies are members of the newly-established Committee for National Power Production Safety.” It did not elaborate further.

According to SERC Chairman Chai Songyue, “The establishment of the committee is a substantial measure to enhance the supervision and management on power production safety.”
