According to the Shakardarra Union Council Nazim, Abdur Rasheed Khattak, “It [is] the right of the people to get benefits from the project.”

This outburst comes on the back of the central government’s interest in siting the plant in Daudzai.

According to Abdur, “The government [is] interested to construct a gas plant in Daudzai area [which will] usurp the rights of the local population.”

“The construction of the plant in Shakardarra would [allow] the people in the remote area to get basic amenities and job opportunities,” added the council leader.
