More than 100 militant Muslims were gunned down by Thai security forces when the militants staged dawn ambushes on the Thai police.
According to the source, speaking to the Malaysian Business Times pullout, “The project as a whole is not affected, though there may be some minimal disruption. Construction was not affected since much of the work in the affected areas has been completed.”
The US$1 billion combined projects, consisting of a 374 km pipeline and a gas separation plant is being undertaken by Trans Thai-Malaysia (Thailand) Ltd and Trans Thai-Malaysia (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd. Once completed, it is hoped the projects will become part of the proposed 4,500 km, US$7 billion Trans-ASEAN Gas Pipeline.
