Doosan wins contract for Taiwanese nuclear plant

South Korea’s Doosan Heavy Industries and Construction Co has won a contract to construct piping facilities for Taiwan’s Lungman nuclear power plant project. The contract was awarded by the Taiwan Power Co.

Under the terms of the deal, Doosan will supply US$64 million worth of core piping facilities from January of next year to February 2006.

The 27 million mW plant is being constructed 60 km north of Taipei and will be Taiwan’s largest nuclear power plant when construction is completed in two years time.
