Following enquiries by EnergyReview.net, SembCorp Industries, the parent company of the busy Singapore dock complex, issued a brief statement which gave scant details but confirmed the quay side to barge maneouvre on April 4 was unsuccessful.
"There was no damage to the module, fabricated by SMOE (SembCorp subsidiary). Neither did the load-out result in any injuries nor deaths," said a SembCorp spokesperson.
"SMOE together with other involved parties are now working to successfully load the module."
It is understood from sources in Singapore that the module was too heavy for the crane.
Sembawang Shipyard engineers are now working to lighten the load out weight by cutting the module's components out for later reassembly.
The SembCorp spokesperson would not reveal details of the client or the project the module was destined for, or when the work around engineering would be completed.
