Striking workers will tie down the plant as a tropical low threatens to build into a cyclone, which could hit the coast tomorrow night.
The workers began a one week strike on Friday claiming that supervisors had done the work of electrical contractors. Kellogg Joint Venture employee relations manager Paul Zorzi said he had found no evidence that supervisors had done contractors' work and admitted discussions were deadlocked unless there was goodwill from both parties.
The stoppage came less than a fortnight after the expiry of a commission order for workers not to take industrial action following major disruptions last October.
