Gail begins work on Tamil Nadu pipeline

Gail (India) Ltd has announced it has begun construction of a pipeline to connect the Narimanam Z...

In a statement the company said, “The 50 km pipeline will help meet the requirements of consumers in the Kuthalam area and will result in an additional flow of 0.20 to 0.30 mmscmd of natural gas into the Kuthalam gas pipeline.”

Currently, Gail supplies 1.9 mmscmd of gas to 50 consumers in five zones in the Cauvery Basin. Its pipeline network there stretches for around 190 km, which in turn is part of a network of 5,300 km natural gas pipelines which the company operates all across India.
