Sui Northern to build Gurguri-Kohat pipeline

MOL Pakistan Oil & Gas Co has awarded a US$9.8 million contract to Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Ltd to build a 10 inch, 78 km gas pipeline to connect Gurguri to Kohat.

Once operational the pipeline will be able to transport around 35 million cubic feet per day of gas with commissioning expected by the end of the year.

A Sui Northern spokesperson, “This gas pipeline will link the new gas discovery at Gurguri to Sui Northern’s high pressure network at Kohat.” The spokesperson also added that the gas in Gurguri was discovered in December 2002.

“[Sui Northern] is the supplier of this gas and the people of the North West Frontier Province will be the major beneficiaries of this project,” said the spokesperson.
