ACCC confirms Queensland gas access tariffs

Consumer watchdog, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has approved the acc...

The Roma-to-Brisbane pipeline is wholly-owned by Australian Pipeline Trust (APT) while the Carpentaria Gas Pipeline is owned by the Carpentaria Gas Pipeline Joint Venture, in which APT has a 70 per cent controlling stake.

"Neither access arrangement affects the price of transportation services on the pipelines, because such transportation services were approved under Queensland Government legislation prevailing prior to the introduction of the National Gas Access Code," APT said in a statement to the market.

"While some services in the Roma-to-Brisbane pipeline are not subject to the pre-established tariffs, the price for these services is set under existing contracts. The access arrangements will therefore have no financial impact on APT."

APT added that the revisions to the access arrangements required by the ACCC and accepted by it and the Capentaria Gas Pipeline JV, cover non-price matters.
