In a major victory for the Bush Administration, a US federal judge found that the investigative arm of Congress has no legal standing to sue current US vice-president Dick Cheney for not releasing the records of his National Energy Policy Development Group.
The General Accounting Office, Judicial Watch, the Sierra Club and the National Resources Defence Council, have been seeking the task force records primarily because they say they are concerned that the administration met business interests in developing energy policy and virtually excluded environmental groups from the decision making process.
