RWO Water Technology, in conjunction with an international supplier of water technology for ships...

The fresh water is additionally treated in the new system so the ships' large and extended piping systems, including the pumps and fittings, are protected against early corrosion.

"The supply system considerably extends the service life of the ship's water pipes which are extremely susceptible to corrosion," RWO managing director Helmut Werle said.

"While pipelines had to be replaced, in many cases prematurely, they are now virtually maintenance free."

The Anti Corrosive Water Treatment System was presented for the first time during the international Shipbuilding, Machinery and Marine Technology Exhibition held in Hamburg, Germany in September.
