WA Chamber formalises education partnership

Under the agreement both parties will co-operate to support and enhance a wide range of education initiatives within the state.

CME chief executive Tim Shanahan said he was delighted with the continued support from DET for CME's minerals education program.

"CME fosters an education environment that facilitates high levels of understanding among educators and your people of the role of the minerals and energy industry, and its interaction with society and the environment," Shanahan said.

"Collaboration such as this between a government department and an industry association assists both parties to achieve their goals."

He said it also provides a strategic approach to the pursuit of excellence in education.
